Distribute EP/Album
The ideal workflow is to have all the songs you want to include in your album already uploaded individually (regardless of whether they’ve been published as singles or not). However, you can also upload new tracks later on, after starting the album creation process.
Before uploading individual tracks, you’ll need to define the key metadata for your album or EP as a whole. This information applies to the full release package and will be visible on all platforms.
Required Fields
Title → The official name of your album or EP.
Do not include terms like “Limited Edition”, “Full Version”, “Edited”, “Cover from”, “Remix”, “Instrumental”, or track numbers in the title.
+ Add version → Optionally clarify if the album is a special version (e.g. Live, Remastered, Deluxe). This will appear in parentheses next to the album title.
Artwork → Must be a square image between 1600x1600 px and 3000x3000 px, in JPG or PNG format.
Artwork must not include:
Social media handles, QR codes, barcodes, or contact info
Offensive, pornographic, or misleading content
Text beyond the artist name and release title
If the release contains explicit content, make sure the Parental Advisory label is visible
Participating artists → Select the artist(s) associated with the album. Order matters: the first artist will be treated as the main artist. You must assign at least one artist to each song. Artists can be:
Already verified under your account
Existing artists already available on the platform
New artists created from scratch
For each artist, select their role in the song:
Main Artist → The primary performer(s) of the track. There can be one or more.
Featuring → Artists contributing a verse or section of the song, typically credited as “feat.”
Remixer → Artist responsible for creating an official remix of the original track.
Ⓟ Phonogram copyright → The person or entity that owns the recording rights for the full release (label or artist).
© Copyright → The person or entity that owns the composition rights (lyrics and music) for the full release.
Do you have a record label? → If checked, you can enter a label name. If left blank, the main artist’s name will be used as default.
Previously Released → Check if this album/EP has been released before. This lets you set an original release date on DSPs different from your SONGS release date.
UPC / EAN Code → (Optional) Enter your UPC or EAN if you already have one. Otherwise, SONGS will generate one for you.
