Fields for Creating a Song
To create a song, it is essential to provide a series of data and metadata that ensure the correct categorization and distribution of your track. Here are the mandatory and optional fields you will need to complete:
Mandatory Fields (MUST)
Release Title β The official name of the song.
Artwork β The songβs cover image.
Track File β Must be in WAV or FLAC format to ensure maximum audio quality.
Maximum duration of silence before/after the music must be less than 20 seconds
Audio must not end abruptly, such as midverse
Track duration must be at least 30 seconds and no longer than 30 minutes
Supported formats (select either Stereo or one of the Spatial Audio formats below)
Stereo: FLAC or WAV up to 192 kHz, 16-bit, 24-bit 1 MB to 1 GB file size per track
Spatial Audio: Dolby Atmos Music Sony 360 Reality Audio
Optional Fields (OPTIONAL)
Description β A short pitch or summary.
Artist Name β Select from the artists already created under this account or create a new one.
Featuring Artist β The name of the featuring artist performing the song.
Instrumental Toggle β Enable this option if the track is instrumental. Selecting this will remove the options to add lyrics and specify a language, as they are not applicable.
Language β Specify the trackβs language.
Lyrics β The lyrics of the song.
Primary Genre β The main musical genre to which the song belongs.
Previously Released β Indicate if the song has been previously released. If left blank, it will be considered a premiere.
Record Label β The entity that owns the recording rights and publishing rights of the song. This name will appear on streaming services with the Β© (copyright) and β (phonographic rights) symbols.
Credits / Publishing Info β Information about the composers, arrangers, and other collaborators.
Recording Location β The location where the song was recorded.
ISRC Code β An ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is required for digital distribution. If not provided, SONGS will generate an ISRC upon release request.
Once the song is created, it is permanently stored on the blockchain, and you will have sovereign ownership over it. Automatically, 10,000 SongShares (Β§) will be generated, all owned by the songβs creator.
